Regarding my photo - I'm living in Slovenia, which is near the majority of Adriatic coast (Croatia). This photo is "looking" at the island named Pag from the small village called Lukovo Šugarje (http://maps.google.com/ , search for "Pag, Croatia" and zoom out a few clicks). It looks that one could swim from the continent to the island, but it's tricky. Don't do it at your own, as sea currents are too strong even for a very good swimmers.
