Talked to this young lady, she wasn't drinking anything but Cola....but ..her friends let her down and the image speaks to me...and hopefully to you.

Sharon, I always find it difficult to convey my feelings about your photography. This is true in this case. I believe that this is a compelling photograph on many different levels.

This image is wonderful and it speaks volumes. It is one person that signifies the many lonely and heartbroken people in our world. At least that's how I see it.

Although you haven't posted many of them up here, I have had the benefit of seeing a lot of the images you've been making lately, particularly featuring people in pubs and restaurants.

As I've said to you, I think you've hit on a wonderful workflow that's producing beautiful rich tones with an almost silk-like appearance. I think it works superbly.

Another feature of these images, this one included, is that they have such a strong narrative. You don't tell the viewer what to see, but you give her/him such a strong visual image that they can then hang their own story on to it.

And, as I keep saying, you have a in-built ability to get 'the decisive moment'.

If this image were posted without the caption, one would have wondered how to deal with this; giving a caption sometimes become very crucial. When someone posts an image he/she has something in mind; it is the caption which helps to find that; of course, one may look at an image independently too. I think the power of this image is half the whole from its caption; really well done
