Sunset over Middle Mouse.
There are three small islands off the Anglesey coast called West Mouse, Middle Mouse and East Mouse. East Mouse and Middle mouse are visible in this image. West Mouse is around the corner. I had gone up onto this headland to photograph the lighthouse that stands there but I found it surrounded by aerial arrays. However, when I looked in the opposite direction............

Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
This is quite beautiful. Very serene and relaxing.
I really like this shot, until I think about photographing it and then I have a problem with the sun, and can't understand how you could shoot into the setting sun without glare. Is it for real, or is this the moon rising and the sun is setting in the other direction.
I don't know, it looks so odd to me that I'm thinking it would be better without the sun.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
No jiggery- pokery on this one Wendy. That's as it was. I think that whether there is glare depends on the atmosphere on the horizon and as you can see there was some cloud. The sun disappeared within a minute or so of this being taken.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Works well and a particularly nice sky.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Interesting image John :) Did you use some distort tools in PS for the sky and the sea ?

Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Good catch John, it works well for me. Great sky.

Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
What a wonderful image John. The sky is really good and not everyday that you can get the sun looking like this.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Good God! What a wonderful scene for you to photograph this beautiful place! Nicely seen! I love the clouds there too.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
That is a stunning sky, John. It looks as if the clouds are molten.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Thanks all for the comments. It was the sky that was the deciding factor to make this a mono image.
Binnur, as I said in post no.3, there has been no funny stuff applied here. There has been PP because to stop burn out, I had to expose for the sun. Consequently , there has been significant shadow recovery but that's all.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Amazing what we come away with sometimes when we drop our pre-conceived notions and simply look around. Nicely done.
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Oh, sorry, I thought you were talking about the sun and glare in post #3:o

Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Excellent treatment...really superb :)
Re: Sunset over Middle Mouse.
Thank you Dan, Binnur and Nandakuma. Dan, "turn around and look the other way" is an old much quoted adage for photographers but how often do we do it?
