Excellent Andre, those colours on the web really make these. As for a preference here it's No 2 for me due to the lighting behind the spider and the slightly more 'conventional appearance of the web and the vibrating/moving strand.
Grahame
Definitely the first one for me Andre. Not as sharp as it might be (almost certainly the wind) but I like it just as an abstract composition.
Great, Andre. The first is really striking. Well seen... a gift of being interested in making photographs is the enhanced noticing of things that comes along with it. Interesting to understand the challenges you faced in getting this right.
Nice shots Andre, especially taking into consideration that they're in-situ shots. Couple of year ago I bought a needlepoint ring to capture and shoot the webs indoors. Procrastination has precluded me from following through. ;)
Thank you for the comments:
John it is not as sharp as I would like it too. The very slight morning breeze keeps moving it to and fro, very difficult to focus.
Interesting to see how the little spider “consumed” the web after a single anchoring strand broke. In a few minutes it looked like it “packed up” the web and it disappeared in a tree.
This morning the web was back again, in the same spot, I was waiting for the right moment again.
This time I shot in RAW and did some editing. The sun was higher than yesterday, with this shot.

Absolute brilliance, Andre...very beautiful colours...
Very nice Andre , especially the last one :)
Gorgeous, gorgeous, what a capture!
I have a thought time with webs, but you don't!
