Birds from last Monday...
Dottie and I went to the marsh at Circle B Bar Reserve on Monday morning. The day was beautiful with the temperatures cooling down, the light was wonderful. While the previous week the White Ibis were there in great numbers this week the Snowy Egrets had moved in. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Snowies in flight... it amazes me to see how a bird with such a long neck when not flying folds the neck up into a streamlined position for flight. I would venture to say if studied it would be a perfect aerodynamic position.

#4 Landing with the legs, feet and neck extended for the drag to slow down and head positioned to see better.

Hi Joe,
All beautiful, as always. The 3rd image of the snow egret is extra special for me.
Re: Birds from last Monday...
Alright already, you and Dotty went birding on Monday and captured some great pictures, as you usually accomplish, but...what about Tuesday. :D
Re: Birds from last Monday...
You manage to turn a location into what seems like a studio. It is difficult to imagine better images of these birds. So sharp and well-exposed. Do you often crop much for these, Joe, or are you close enough with your 300 to get a lot of your frame filled with these great creatures?

Hmmm, Tuesday... let me see. The day began with a doctor's appointment. Then the rest of the day was doing house chores and working up images. Thanks for viewing and commenting Chauncey, much appreciated.

Hello Mark, thank you for viewing and commenting. I think the best way I can answer your question is to post the untouched originals, straight out of the camera.

Re: Birds from last Monday...
Thanks very much, Joe. These underline that great images start with great captures. Helps me understand where I need to head.
Re: Birds from last Monday...
Great series, Joe. I am glad you dont have snow in Florida (neither do I :D), so I can expect birds still coming from your part! Cheers,
Re: Birds from last Monday...
Super shots as usual and always a delight to see (and be envious/jealous about :) )

Hello Otavio, thank you for your comments. Yes, you can expect to see birds all winter. From now through April is the best time for birds in Florida.

Thanks James, the white ones were right on the borderline to use or bin. I prefer to be closer like the first one with the Limpkin.

...the same here, too. Summer starts on December, 21th, but it's already hot here (actually, it is hot all the year). Last Friday we had a temperature of around 40ºC (104ºF)!
Regards,
Re: Birds from last Monday...
I viewed your serious with awe. Just starting to get into photographing birds and I jumped for joy this morning when I actually captured a chickadee in flight. No comparison at all to this wonderful set!
