King's College Chapel is perhaps the grandest single structure in Cambridge. Although it was started by Henry VI in 1446, Henry VIII finalised this gothic chapel to honour his new Queen, Anne Boleyn. Their marriage triggered England's departure from Roman Catholicism. King's Chapel contains the largest fan-vaulted ceiling in the world and two-thirds of its wall area is covered by stained glass.
