An Art of embroidery on old style-copper utensils..
Here is an Art of “copper embroidery”, mostly apllied on old style- copper kitchen utensils, as being one of the traditional craftsmanships in Turkey. This Art is kept alive by very limited number of old craftsman still living. The below is a very impresive sample of hand-embroided long-spoute pitcher, made in Antep, a historical city located in east part of Turkey. The material is basically copper plates in appropriate thickness, selected in accordance with the type of application, and later shining of the work by tin in some certain ways to finish. All motives and figures are embroided by using specific hand tools with patience, that lasts quite a number of hours-or days some time..
If it is interested, I would gladly provide other samples of this kind of things later.
