    Zuleta Valley, Ecuador

We travelled 32 hours straight from Melbourne to Quito (the capital of Ecuador) - via Sydney, Auckland, Santiago (Chile), Guayaquil and finally Quito. The next day we went to Zuleta Valley, higher in the Andes (around 11,000 ft) to stay at an old hacienda built by the first president in 1680. We were the only guests and had the whole 4,000 acres working property and old home to ourselves.
Here are some of the images of the old hacienda.

The main lounge area complete with open fire (on the equator)

The main entrance courtyard. I can see horses and carriages pulling up here.

The central courtyard had beautiful flowers and hummingbirds all around it. We had lunch here on the second day.

We went a little further down the valley to see Condors nesting on the cliffs and flying - absolutely magical.

A very old lock on the storeroom.

That looks like a fantastic place to visit. You have captured the feel quite nicely. The old lock is a great shot Peter.

Thanks Paul and Donald. I do not want to bore people with a travelogue but there were some great places we visited. Just say enough is enough and I will stop. I have to process some more so it will be a little while.

Having all that sumptuous space around you must feel like being a real old fashioned lord.

    Very good images.

It was nice and peaceful Geoff, just what you need after 32 hours of straight travel.
