Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

Hello, Andy. Just like you, I also enjoy shooting street photography. Among the three I'd go for #1, maybe because she's cute. For images #1 and #3 a shallow depth of field would make a good effect on a busy background. It would also work nicely on #2 due to the reclining lady at the background. The 3 images seems to be too tightly crop to complete a story by itself. You could also add some selective sharpening on your main subject so they stand out from the frame. Just some suggestions, Sir. I think you did good on these shots, but definitely with lots of room for improvement.

Thank you for taking the time to comment Jiro, i'm still very new to photgraphy so appreciate your suggestions. The only lens i have for my old 20D is the standered kit lens, will be getting a nifty fifty soon so hopefully my images will improve.

The second photo with that reflection reminds me of that Harry Worth scene.

But I don't suppose anyone outside of the UK, or of a younger age, will know anything about that.

Yep, I'm far too young to know what you're talking about.

    Hi Andy,

You say you are new to photography and i say that you must not be telling the truth ( i mean this in a good way). Your pics are good and you do have the 'eye' for street photography. Keep them coming, amigo.

    Cheers

For me, Andy, the first one works fine as it is; but I would crop the second. Remove that part and blurred image of the girl on the left.

There is room to take a corresponding amount from the top, or change the image size ratio.

    Hi Andy,

Yes this works because we wonder what they're all doing (listening to sport on the radio?), because it is so hard cropped at the bottom, the extra space above makes it look like you were shooting over an obstruction and well, for me, it works.

The following shot, I'd go further than Geoff's suggestion and also take out the woman 'havin' a drag' on the right, making a vertically oriented shot with all those scaffold poles, etc. I think it'll work.

Good stuff, I must try it someday,
