It works well, but it's a bit ungainly coupled together and only has the manual focus function available with the coupler. At the fully extended 600mm, the slightest twitch puts you out of focus at almost any f/stop under 11 or 16. A tripod is a must. Of course, a lot of this is also due to the fact, I haven't used it enough to have that old friend familiarity, so as time goes by, perhaps this would improve.
I've only had the camera one day, and again, it is with a borrowed D5000 which, though a nice camera, lacks many of the fine tuning functions found on the D7000. Hopefully, my camera will get back soon and I will get a chance to try it out before having to send the lenses back (on loan from a friend that sells sigma lenses).
