    One of the many metal gratings that protects the location of every city tree in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Thank you very much for viewing.

    Nikon D70, Nikon 18-70mm lens set at 35mm. Exposure at ISO 200, f5.6 at 1/80 of a second, Matrix Metering in Aperture Priority Mode. Color processed in Lightroom 3.3, additional processing inside Photoshop.

    That's a clever composition and it makes the image work. That close-in presentation of the contrast between nature and a man-made object sets up a very good image.

    Thanks, Donald. The contrast between the soil, the tree, and the metal gratings were the first elements that caught my eye. Then, a little imagination and I came up with this vision in mind and Lightroom helped me bring it out from the original image. Cheers.

    I like the way that no matter where you look around at the metal grating it forces you into the base of the tree and then up the trunk.
