They just showed up one day and never left.I was out in the yard yesterday looking for something to shoot and they would not leave me alone....soooo.....

Wow, these are awesome! How did you get them to stay still long enough to get these shots?
The definition is really amazing.

The top I think is a hen Americana or Auracana breed, Not sure about the bottom except that it looks like a rooster. The pictures are good but they just seem to conventional to me. They look like any other pic from a chicken magazine or something.

Thanks Frankie and Will. They are rather conventional. My intention was practice at catching them as sharp as I could poviding all of their head bobbing and quick sharp movement. Considering my intention Will, the fact that they remind you of a shot in a chicken magazine......is taken as a compliment.

I've never spent this much time looking at chickens/roosters up close...they're kinda neat. Great work. You definitely achieved sharp.

Thanks everyone, I used my 75-300 at about 160mm and f5, really was not sure just how shap I could get it. Just was not enough light out for f8 or so. Well off to play with the little lens I picked up today....my first prime 1.7 50mm. So far it is very sharp.

I don't think you could draw them and get them as sharp as these are...too plain or not, they are excellent studies. Good doings!
