Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    Undelivered Package.

An old image of mine given a different post-processing effect inside photoshop.

    Undelivered Package.

I want it to look old and nostalgic. Kindly let me know your opinion on the technique. Thank you very much for viewing!

I like the look Jiro but for nastalgic I might try to add a very transpearent sepia layer 25 0r 30%. Maybe on B&W if it did not work on the color.

    Hi Willie,

I think it actually looks a little too sharp and contrasty to be old and nostalgic - kinda almost "too good" for the era you're trying to emulate.

Errr... not in the manner that we know the tone mapped softwares available out there, Chris. I simply used a lot of layers and masks inside photoshop to arrive at this one. Just playing around photoshop.

Nice one, Colin. Now that is really nostalgic! I guess I've used the wrong word on the one I want to achieve. I like it to look old but with a certain kind of glow to the image. I'm still figuring out how to describe the effect properly. I like the way you processed this one. Cheers!

    Glad you like it

I started with a couple of passes of blur @ 0.2, and then - basically - just a HSB set to colourise (38) (standard sepia setting), but playing with the opasity and saturation - and a little levels tweak thrown in for good measure.

    Re: Undelivered Package.

The original was a stunner - as are the conversions.
It reminds me of a lot of romantic movies where the girl has a bike like this - usually she meets the Boy when he crashes into her with his car....but I digress (again )
So it would be a stunner for a movie poster...
The only wee thing that detracts my eye from the bike is the bit of green on the branch on the right...that branch bald would be perfect for me.
    Now those movies..
    Eat Pray Love
    A Good Year
and 1 where he buys her a bike like this - was I think called Return to me....

Of course a really brave man (which rules me out) would possibly say that a modern day rendition would be a guy on the bike (because it's all he can afford with the alimony payments etc) being driven into by the girl (his ex) who "claims" she was just doing her makeup in the rear-vision mirror (when everyone knows it's because she's after the insurance money, or just can't drive!)

Here;s my final edit on this one.

    Undelivered Package.

I added just a little bit of glow to the essential areas to create the dreamy effect. Thanks for the help, Colin. Cheers!
