Hi Paul,
What is the structure made of? Looks like Chris's Mini under there.
The Troll is made of concrete and has a bit of dirt in places, along with some algea from the constant moisture. This troll is over 20ft tall. Also the VW is a real car with a layer of concrete and dirt for coloring.
Nice find, Paul. What an interesting subject it is. :)
Thanks Jiro, it is interesting. I must confess I struggled with the lighting some. It was a cloudy and rainy day yet quite bright out. However under the bridge was quite dark from his shoulders up and a bit bright from there down. Over all I was happy to have done this well. I may try a night shot sometime and see how that goes.
Wondered how long it would be 'till I got a reaction.
I was alseep...or watching tv, or shooting something....dragging a bit behind today.
very cool :D
I like # 1 best the angle gives a feeling of zooming around the bend and eeek into the arms of the troll!
Hi Paul, I took a picture of this troll the last time I was in Seattle - mine was at night which lent some interesting shadows and dimension.... sadly though, mine is a touch out of focus and the angle was not great, but definitely night time lighting works well with it... with these shots, I would try a tighter crop on the 2nd one and make it a high contrast black and white... ? Just a thought..:)
Is this along the lines of what you were thinking Rachel?
Thank you Kay. :)

yes! he's got a bit more texture and depth with the black and white and the increased contrast - the closer crop shows the bug in his hand a little clearer too! :D
Thanks Rachel, I brought the texture out with a very slight tone map. Which I really have never done much with but am trying to learn more PP techniques.
it's fun learning how to do all this pp! ;)
