Tried something different. To me focus looks a little soft on the left and lesson learned would be to try f/16 instead of f/8 next time.

    C&C welcome.....is it a hit or a miss?

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

This is an example of texture and repetitive pattern, Debbie. Nice! My small comment is that the background seems to be very bright that the ice are not that clearly defined. It's tough to shoot white on white and still capturing the textures. I think you did an acceptable job on this one. I can't say it is a miss because I like the pattern and the idea. Maybe, it is just not that strong of an image, but still good.

Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

I like it. It says, 'cold,' and it has been cold in New England.

I agree with Jiro. I really like this but I think that it could be stronger. And, my first reaction? NEATO!

Were you absolutely square on with the fence, Debbie? I suspect this would explain the difference in focus more than using another F number.

I frequently get similar problems while trying to photograph insects.

I was not square on, intentionally. I wanted an angle. I liked this one cause it had some ice features, but I don't think I've got a strong representation of that. Its close, but its not quite how I want it. I took a bunch at different angles and I have 2 others that I like, same fence, different angle....thing is, they turn my eyeballs inside out working on them in ACR...that whole optical illusion thing.
