Unfortunately the sun was a bit high and not staying behind the clouds. I rather like the shot anyway with the color in the water from a near by barn.

Did you try using a layer burn mask for the right side...I think you can tone that down considerably and save this as a workable shot...

Not yet but I will likely save it for such a time my PP skill level comes up some. I really only just started playing with putting layers together.

I may have gone overboard, but this was done pretty quickly and it is really simple. Go to Layer, New and change the opacity to 30% and mode to overlay and check box for graying. The Keyboard "D" darkens and "X" lightens. Use a big soft brush and paint on the layer mask which you can see in the layers dialogue but not on your image. When finished, merge the layer.

Thanks Chris, it does help it a bit for sure. I use Gimp but it should not be to different I would think.

Well, you may have went a little to far and I may not have gone quite far enough. lol I gave it a quick go within layers but went a little different route. Only because I have not got Gimp completely figured out. lol
