    Both, I think, are well exposed and processed images with a good balance of tone across the picture.

    The difference and what, for me, makes #1 a much better image than #2 is the composition. I think #2 is too 'front-on' and we are restricted in our view of the scene. I think #2 is a good documentary record of the building, rather than an artistic picture. However, #1 has a nice flowing line across the frame and we can see the location in more context. The 'steeliness' of the sky add mood and atmosphere to the scene. I think it is a very good picture.

    Hi Muris,

    I agree with Donald, although I would add that #2 would be improved (I think), by panning right (and up) a bit so that the main house roof diagonal just/almost touches the left edge of frame and this would then bring in some more of what we see on right in #1; namely the whole conical roof and perhaps half the other distant one.
