YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED NOT TO PUT THE LOCATION OF YOUR HOUSE ON THE MAP. USE A PUBLIC BUILDING (NOT SOMEONE ELSES HOUSE) AT LEAST A FEW MILES FROM YOUR ACTUAL LOCATION.

If you add a place-mark on the map please add a post to this thread to say you have done so, and provide a link to it.

You need to do the following to put yourself on the map:

f you don't already have one, you need to open an account. It's very easy, and is free. Go to Make your account on Google Maps
It's useful to join anyway, as you can create your own maps. Dave Humphries informs me that if you have a Gmail account then you won't need to set up an account as it uses the same one.

• When you have an account set up go to the CiC Google Map
• The CIC members map should be displayed
• Select EDIT
• Zoom in on the map and find your location
• Right-click and select 'add a placemark'
• Fill in the details - the title should be your name, the text is just a couple of lines about you. You can insert a photo if you use the rich text edit button
• Select DONE, and that's it

If you want a link to your placemark, select your placemark with the pop=up window showing and select 'link' in top-right of map. Use that for linking to your placemark.

I noticed Dave lives on a roundabout near to the Royals family I have Philips signature, don't tell anybody because I don't think he signs anything.

Is there any boat rides to London? I saw a big boat there once, it was me driving the artic with a very large tent on the back of it.

Depending on when that was, there might have been people out on the roadsides working on planters and other varous vessels containing flowers and plants. If there was, I was probably one of them.

We're a nice lot really.

A lot of people who visit (and some who live here) bemoan the fact that there is no direct access onto the M90 motorway that runs past the village. The rest of us thank our gods that there is not. You have to travel 5/6 miles in either direction to get an access junction. That is what has kept it the little village it is and not mushroomed into yet another dormitory community for Edinburgh.

It also makes it much easier to set up the artillery and the roadblocks to stop the invasion ... whenever it comes!

Okay, when I try to edit my signature and put a link that takes people to that beautiful and stunning image .... of me, all I get is that not-so-beautiful and not-at-all stunning image of a someone in Wales trying to look cool and sophisticated.

So, the question is - What is the process for getting the correct URL to link into a bit of text in my signature. Please don't tell us that the map owner is the only one who can do this and that it will always default to his entry. I'm not sure the world is ready for that!

ps - If you go to the street view at my tag, my house is in the picture. The command centre is behind the double window. Have a look opposite the window in the garden shed.
