YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED NOT TO PUT THE LOCATION OF YOUR HOUSE ON THE MAP. USE A PUBLIC BUILDING (NOT SOMEONE ELSES HOUSE) AT LEAST A FEW MILES FROM YOUR ACTUAL LOCATION.
If you add a place-mark on the map please add a post to this thread to say you have done so, and provide a link to it.
You need to do the following to put yourself on the map:
f you don't already have one, you need to open an account. It's very easy, and is free. Go to Make your account on Google Maps
It's useful to join anyway, as you can create your own maps. Dave Humphries informs me that if you have a Gmail account then you won't need to set up an account as it uses the same one.
- When you have an account set up go to the CiC Google Map
- The CIC members map should be displayed
- Select EDIT
- Zoom in on the map and find your location
- Right-click and select 'add a placemark'
- Fill in the details - the title should be your name, the text is just a couple of lines about you. You can insert a photo if you use the rich text edit button
- Select DONE, and that's it
If you want a link to your placemark, select your placemark with the pop=up window showing and select 'link' in top-right of map. Use that for linking to your placemark.
