Looks like the makings of a photoshop makeover challenge!
    Lovely portrait (Colin) BTW.

Thanks Kay. After working on it, I wasn't sure whether I should have gone for a slightly greater depth of field. Thanks for the feedback.

I like the lighting in Greed. What were you using? I also like your choice of theme.

    Pisaura mirabilis

It was a dull slightly misty day today but it improved slightly during the afternoon so I did a few jobs in the garden.

Not much life around but I did spot a number of these young spiders lurking amongst the celeriac leaves.

Holding the front pairs of legs together is typical of this species. Going by the abdomen shape and colouration, I suspect this is probably a male.

Katy; that is a good sharp photo with plenty of depth.

    Fuschia

My good lady assures me this is a wild fuschia, seemed quite passive to me... except for that annoying blur on the stamens..oh well it was the 'stillest' of about 8 shots and then it got dark..

Great crisp image, I admire your perseverance with the "argh" flower. I wondered what it would look like floating in something dark like oil, showing the meniscus etc...OK OK I'll go take my pills now..
