    Franzen Sharpen Trial

Another thread reported on Franzen Software's Focus Stacking software, so I thought I would have a look at it. Most of it is expensive for what it seems to offer, but I thought I would give the Sharpener a trial. This offers deconvolution as well as the standard USM sharpening.

#1 I started with this photo of a Toadstool, which I think is a Deceiver, Laccarius laccata. This used the USM default sharpening in Affinity.

#2 I put it through the Auto Processing in Sharpener to get this:

It certainly seems to have done a good job, but is it worth the $99 for the full software?

    Comments welcome.

The post was mine John and I also have the Franzis noise reduction software which I like very much. However, I have only bought when their packages have been on offer and consequently, never paid more than $20-$25. The reviews of their effects packages e.g. B&W Effects have been less kind because they apparently tend to be slow.
