    A few butterflies.

The sap was seeping from a stringy-bark tree and it proved irresistible to butterflies.
    A few butterflies.

    Tailed Emperor.
    A few butterflies.

    A few butterflies.

    Male and the darker female.
    A few butterflies.

    Common Crow.
    A few butterflies.

Chequered Swallowtail hiding in the rocks.
    A few butterflies.

    A few butterflies.

    A few butterflies.

    A battered Irius.
    A few butterflies.

And a Restless Flycatcher decided to pose for a second.

I have a couple of ancient books:
    A few butterflies.

    A few butterflies.

And, of course, there is always Google. I must ask Santa for a more up to date book.

Those trees grow all over SE Queensland - I'll post you one.

All nice ones, Richard...Did you purposely seek them for this shots? They are all beautiful though I feel some of them a little bit flat, could do with a little bit more structure.

Many thanks to all who commented.

I went out looking for scrub wrens - small fast moving birds that forever hide in the shade and thick scrub. It was quite by chance that I saw the butterflies and turned my attention to them. The lighting was quite a challenge with extreme dynamic range; their wings were in sunlight and the body and feet in deep shade. Front or back lit shots were an equal challenge. Those shots in grassy areas were made difficult by 20kts of wind.
I managed only one pretty average shot of a white-browed scrub wren.
    A few butterflies.

And a rather coy little bird.
