Sports isn't a venue that I try and do very often but the BC Summer Games are in town so I took in some of the practice sessions today. Beach Volleyball was near where I live and I am posting one of the images. I do know that it isn't the best sorts image but I thought it was something of a fun shot.

Rita, catching the guy in midair is perfect. Exposure is OK...I would have blown some part here if I am not careful. As for the player, getting caught in the net I would had pulled that net down with me -- I ain't going to fall down alone...

It's a good mid-air capture but like most sport shots I see, and often including my own, the background clutter generally reduces the shot to, "fun."

If your system is up to it shooting wide open is one way to get rid of background clutter.

Izzie, if it were me trying this I would not only bring the net down but I would get all rolled up in it too Oh, this is not a pretty thought.

Chris, I totally agree with you about sports images, it is really difficult to get a good background.

Brian, I will keep that in mind for next time. I will be shooting a horse show sometime in the next few weeks so I will try it then.
