Thanks Joe, I could tell fibs and say I planned the metro shot, but I was very pleased to see the result of my short rapid burst.

Waiting for the Metro is a great capture. Chance or design? Either way, it's a good shot.

Yes these have all worked well. Obviously you put a bit of thought into the compositions before clicking the shutter.

Week 39 Transylvania 2016 Project 52, third quarter by Lindsay (CormacD)

Spent a few days this week in Transylvania, Romania driving the Transfagarasan Road through the Fagaras Mountains. Some people have rated this one of the best drives in the world. Check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eAPS2RPYRs

Here is a selection of shots I took.

Everything seems to be showing correctly now. Good images.

The B&W night scene in Week 38 has worked well for such a difficult situation with poor light and people moving around.

European cities are ripe for creating vintage looking images, however #3 looks too modern and must be overloaded with tourists. Nice architecture shot.

Thanks Binnur, it was my fault, I'm using my iPad whilst travelling and I have difficulty copying and pasting the tiny pic links, so posted a few times accidentally. Hopefully I'll improve with more practice.

Not many tourists this time of the year, mainly locals out on a Friday night

I can see #2 properly now and it is a very nice composition , I also like the color contrast in the image

Love the shots in week 39. In the third shot looking down the road IMO would be better if the section of highway in the bottom left were not so prominent. It draws the eye away from the rest of the image. Thanks for sharing that video. The highway is amazing!

    Hi Lindsay,

Going back to Week 38, I find the blacks lacking any detail in #1 (Bulavadul Unirii), but appreciate your editing circumstances while away from your normal screen and computer must be challenging.

The road in Week 39 does look amazing and I also enjoyed the video, so thanks for sharing that too.

I agree with Joe's thought on the foreground road in #3, it is the red/white paint on the barrier that is mostly responsible, if that were removed, by cropping, or perhaps even cloning the plain over it, it may help. (but again, I'm not suggesting this is feasible while you're travelling)

    Cheers, Dave

Thanks Joe. It was not the best time of day, not the best weather and not that easy to stop for the best compositions, but still a great drive. Fortunately my son was driving so I could relax and watch the scenery. I'll revisit some of these when I get home and look at some refinements.
