John, a cute and humorous moment. The man walking by in the background looks like he's doing a double take.

    Hi Sergio,

An added bonus (the double take) that you don't have a chance to see in the viewfinder, made processing the image all the more enjoyable when you see the little gem you were able to catch. Thanks for commenting.

I like this one, I agree about the 'double take' but the look on the guy dancing with the tiger, like...'yeah dude, I'm dancin' with a tiger. What of it?'
(and yeah, if this is the 'photo of the week' you definitely need to gets out some mo, at least for the sake of sanity.)

Taken during same event, I tried using a slower shutterspeed to get a bit more movement.

    John,
The first shot is amusing, especially because of the double-take.
I'd suggest increasing the contrast, and cropping a slice off the top.
As for the second, the slow shutter speed adds motion blur that gives the image interest. but the great depth of field results in a busy background that tends to de-emphasize the main subjects..
There is not much that can be done to fix this after the fact, but I wonder why when shooting a scene like this, you wouldn't have used a lower ISO to keep the same shutter speed but then use a larger aperture to shallow out the depth of field.

    Hi Robert,

4.5 is as wide as I could go with that lens (55-200mm), so not much more could be done to remedy the background. Thanks for commenting.

I'll check but I doubt it. Thanks for commenting.
