Beautfiful colors and reflections Bernard If the image was mine I would crop the FG rocks because the reflections are so nice on their own and the rocks seem to be out of focus.
Well done Bernard. As Donald says the colors are spot on, maybe I would have lifted the shadows a bit, and crop the foreground rocks. But I really like the reflection. It's not the "mirror image" reflection, but thats what gives the image a sense of realism. Once again well done.
Mr Boyle, I cannot tell you how affecting this photograph is to me. I am a native of Glasgow who spent a good deal of his childhood on these waters- some of the best days of my life. My father owned various caravans at Inverbeg and we were great ski-ing enthusiasts. I learned to swim AFTER I learned to ski. Every summer holiday, every weekend was spent ski-ing and swimming in the pristine loch. Memorable rainy days swimming in the rapids beside the youth hostel, or we'd ski down to Luss for a Cornish wafer. I remember one glorious weekend in the early Eighties, a convoy of 5 boats went down to Bikini Beach for a picnic with at least one ski-ier in tow. Rainy days in Helensborough.
Those days ended more than 30 years ago and I'm now on the other side of the world, in "the land of gold and poison".
How lucky I am to have those memories.
THIS was the view from my bedroom window recently.
