I assumed, even before the discussion of his skin colour arose, that the lighting is a mixture of daylight outside (in background and rim lighting subject) plus artificial inside, acting as the main source for the subject and that this artificial light is a somewhat warmer colour temperature than the daylight - be that tungsten or perhaps even light from the heating appliance for the shoes.
In that context, the skin tones look good to me too.
