Stewart Peak Panorama-rama
All were shot handheld due to weight constraints. All uploaded via picturepush high-resolution uploading.
Stewart Peak is located in the Cheam Range of the Northern Cascade Mountains. The Northern Cascades are located in southwestern British Columbia, with a narrow finger extending north to Lytton, British Columbia.
Stewart Peak itself is 2238 m above sea level with a 128 m prominence. It is a moderate difficulty scramble accessible from a logging road off Chilliwack Lake Road. Three other peaks in the Cheam Range are also accessible from this trail.

Hi Bleys
I think I am envious of where you live. How much are properties to buy there?:)
Great shots, very well executed. Spot on. I like the one with the figure in to give it a sense of scale.
Re: Stewart Peak Panorama-rama
Very well done there - excellent work.
Re: Stewart Peak Panorama-rama
Very cool. Love the last hi-res 360 one especially, what is the bulls eye looking thing on the rock about 2/3rds through the picture to right? It's a black circle with a red centre.
Re: Stewart Peak Panorama-rama
Also, how much overlap do you use when shooting and which program to stitch together? Thanks.
Re: Stewart Peak Panorama-rama
Great images, well executed and seamless stitched. Also an inspiring location

The red bullseye thing is a memorial plaque for a snowboarder who died on Cypress Mountain (a popular ski resort near Vancouver) at the age of 22. In an effort to commemorate his death his parents decided to put 22 memorial plaques on 22 peaks surrounding the Fraser Valley. The plaques are roughly four inches across and are cemented into place.
Since the peaks are accessible via popular hikes and scrambles, the plaques have stirred quite a bit of controversy. Many people view the plaques as senseless vandalism and mountaintop graffiti. The peaks that these plaques are popping up on are nowhere near the place where their son died, so you can see why people are confused and angered.
I'm not sure exactly what the program is called. I think it came with my sister's camera.
When I shoot these pictures up there I'm firing all willy-nilly so there's quite a bit of overlap. I do try to minimize though. :P

Of course I can sympathise with their loss, but that does seem rather excessive, one plaque where it happened is perhaps fair do's, but I can see why people would be annoyed at finding them all over the place!
Seems a shame he'll be known to (probably) far more poeple than he is remembered by, as the guy with the parents who couldn't get over it. Did he climb, or snowboard, at all these places where the plaques are popping up too? Or is it random?
Anyways, that's my personal view, YMMV (and fortunately, no, I haven't lost a child, hope I never do, but I don't think I'd want to plaster Staffordshire/Yorkshire with plaques where-ever my son has climbed, much as I love him)

As far as I know it is indeed random. He was an avid snowboarder who frequented the slopes around Vancouver. The peaks where his parents are placing these plaques are something like 150 km east, in a completely different mountain range.
Losing a child is a tragic, but I think these folks have taken their memorial a little too far.
