Taken last summer at an Indian Festival in what was the original Little India area, here in Toronto.
While looking for interesting subjects, I noticed a young Muslim woman wearing a long black dress, with a colourful headscarf, and Niqab or face cover. She was also wearing what looked like designer sunglasses, and carried a cell phone in her hand with red-manicured nails.
I liked the confluence of cultural symbols, and when she stopped to shop at a street vendor, I grabbed this shot.

Nice image. I always remember when my daughter played football, there was a Marocan girl with her head covered and in football paints with bare legs.

Could be she had a fight with her husband and had to cover something.

She's so well lit, colors so vibrant, and in focus that it's a bit of a distraction (in a good way). Even the headscarf seems untraditional and with the phone it just adds to the impact of converging cultures. Nicely seen and captured.
