    Glass Viewed from Above

I'll probably make several photos of this glass, already captured in my first photo of it. Rather than photograph its plain red top, I used reflectors to paint it in an abstract style.

    Setup
The tabletop is clear glass underneath a silicone hot pad. A black carpet on the floor is beneath the glass. A medium continuous-light lamp is on the lower left side. A white reflector loosely fitted with a yellow gel above the glass on the left side provides the yellow reflections. A white reflector above the glass on the right side provides the white outline of the rim of the glass and the bright reflections in the bowl, which were changed in color during post-processing. Two captures, one for the ideal exposure of the bowl of the glass and one for the ideal exposure of everything else, were merged.

Mike, I'm embarrassed to say that I bought one of these a while back but never tried it out...

Hi Mike. I love the composition and color for this. Really nice capture.

I've had an Idea, why dont you try shooting it again the exact same way but this time set the glass on a mirror and dim the lights. Might get some moody reflections? Just a thought.

Some interesting manipulation of light, Mike. You've created quite the abstract with this one.

Very nice image... I also like it with the bottom of the glass cropped out. I noticed that crop as I was scrolling the image to get it on my monitor...
