    Times gone by

Last week, I went on a scouting trip to eastern Oregon to deer hunt later this year. The landscape is completely different than western Oregon but has a beauty to it in its own way. We stopped in a ghost town called Shaniko (SHAN i koh). There are old (late 1800s) buildings and old cars scattered around. I walked by the blacksmith shop and saw this old truck left at the gate. Since my photographic eye is attracted to rust and old wood like a moth to a porch light, I couldn't help but get a couple of shots. I immediately saw this in black and white and knew exactly how I was going to PP it. How did I do?

Beautifully done with the burnt out edging and the sepia. It really looks like an old photograph.

These wonderful subjects are perfect candidates for black & white / sepia conversion. Your excellent photograph is a fine example of this. Very well done!

Very good pp -- I have one problem though -- the floating fence at the back and the part of the roof does not do anything for and with the image...Can that be removed, cloned out, disappeared?

Izzy, Do you mean the single piece that's poking out above the roof of the truck, or, is it the building in the background? If you are talking about the background, that is a barn, not a "floating fence". The sun wasn't in the ideal location to get the best composition of this shot.
