Themed Photo Challenge #7 - Oh the weather outside is ......?
This challenge's theme is: Oh the weather outside is ......?
The closing date will be: 19th August 2010
There are a few rules;
A) Photographs must be shot after the theme was announced on 9th July 2010
B) Photographs should be posted in this thread before the closing date (don't leave it too late)
C) If a person enters more than one picture, each should be in a separate post
D) No voting for your own photograph(s)
E) Since many do already, it seems only fair that everyone entering should cast votes (for each other's efforts)
Voting;
When announced, voting (open to any member) will be by Private Message (PM) to Dave Humphries, over a period of two days or so. This will ask you to state your favourite three photographs in '1st, 2nd, 3rd' order by "V number" reference. Scoring will be done the '3, 2, 1' points way.
Theme topics;
The winner of this challenge should then send me a PM with a theme suggestion for a subsequent challenge.
This theme (#7), was chosen by Donald who won the #5 challenge in mid-June.
Good luck,

Holding thread for Themed Comp #7
It has been an eventful year; July last year I took up DSLR photography and thought it was going to be a doddle since I did medium format at school in the 60's, in January I was having a five hour heart op and a couple of weeks ago attended my fathers funeral, and I feel like that girl above.
Missed the village fête and the regatta, hope I can recharge my batteries for the next year and start taking fine photo's like the two above ones. cheers :)
Oh the weather outside is all a blur

Re: Oh the weather outside is A Little Wet
Steve,
Sorry to hear about your father's passing and I hope you have a problem free recovery from you surgery.
Re: Oh the weather outside is A Little Wet
Cheers Jim, I wished I could understand what the consultant wrote, but he actually got somebody else on a blue light from another hospital to do the surgery and theatre was closed for all other ops,but I walked in thinking I had a bad chest infection. :eek:
My father wouldn't accept any treatment, at least I will as a last resort and the consultant did say 'you haven't any choice '. He discharged me as a success but wrote a lot of things in a letter to my doctor that I just don't understand, but using a medical dictionary they are related to my heart problems.
So far so good and thanks. :)

This the result of a recent storm near our village. It was a sever storm, a lot of trees fell over or just snapped.
Re: Result of a latest storm
Take care of yourself Steve - we want you around here for as long as possible. :)
Re: Result of a latest storm
Cheers Kit, I want to be around for a very long time. :)

the weather outside is....
The weather outside is.... DREICH
Voting ref. V8
Dreich = Dreich (Old Scots origin)
A combination of dull, overcast, drizzly, cold, misty and miserable weather. At least 4 of the above adjectives must apply before the weather is truly dreich
Example - "It was a dreich day"
Picked from here

40D Canon 50mm f1.8. ISO 100. 1/1000@f2.8. Manual. 13:58.
Not great, but all I've got at the moment. May replace before competition closes.

I had this idea but had to search for a suitable location; then rejected all of my earlier attempts.
If there is time, I may continue to think around this idea.
Just right for a nap in the sun

After all... Sunny 68 degrees farenheit (20 degrees centigrade) with 64% humidity is a pretty nice August day at noon. But, then... This is San Diego, CA!
