    Tilt Shift in PSE8

Can anyone show me, direct me to, or explain to me the way that I can create the tilt shift effect using Photo Shop 8? I have looked all over the web and can only find tutorials for earlier versions....and for what ever reason, I have not been able to duplicate the steps in my version.

    Thanks.

    Hi Warren,

It might help to know exactly what you are trying to correct - I assume just perspective, since you can't really change the plane of focus in PP. Perhaps post the troublesome picture, and say what you want to do.

I have PSE 6 and I'd be fairly surprised if the method has changed from earlier versions in 8, but there are many PSE 8 owners here, so I'm sure one will assist.

Alternatively, I'd have thought a google of "PSE8 perspective" would give a starter.

    Cheers,

Warren, do you mean how to get the selective blur to make stuff look "toylike". I'm not sure what is missing in Elements to help you achieve the "look". Tutorial anyway.

    Warren,

I've played around with this and it produces fairly decent results.I know this isn't what you are wanting, but thought I would post anyway.

As per "100 Top Simplified Tips & Tricks for Photoshop Elements 8" which is a great book for PSE8. This is found on Pages 152-152 along with some good illustrations.

FIX PERSPECTIVE PROBLEMS WITH BUILDING PHOTOGRAPHS

    1. click "filter"
    2. select "correct camera distortion"
    The camera distortion window opens
    3. click "Vertical Perspective Distortion" slider and move it to the left to straighten building
    4. Use grid to help you determine when building is straight (I usually just eyeball this)
    5. Click "horizontal perspective" slider and move to left or right to correct horizontal;l perspective
    6. Correct any left or right lean with angle icon
NOTE: Angle icon is very sensitive and you may find it easier to type numbers in the degree box
    7. Use edge extension slider to bring back important parts of the picture
    8. when you have corrected the photo - click OK.
The photo opens into "Edit Full" with your work displayed as a single layer
    9. Click crop tool and crop out distorted edges of final image
    11. Click the green check mark icon when you are finished
