Change Gives The Illusion Of Progress

Along with the title of this post, there is an old Navy Saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Unfortunately, www.smugmug.com doesn't seem to agree with either of the above comments!

They keep changing their format for no apparent reason and without any input from paying customers such as I am...

They also seem to make these changes without any warning or explanation as to the change.

    Case in point:

For years, I have been able to click on Share and then select an image link to post on CiC and other websites.

This morning, I clicked on share and there is an entirely new interface presented to me... I don't know how to use it.

HOW DO I GET A LINK?

I have looked up getting a link on Google and this doesn't work

Here's what I end up with

    https://rpcrowe.smugmug.com/Pets/MAL...uno_1660-L.jpg

    or

    <a href="https://rpcrowe.smugmug.com/Pets/MALTESE-RESCUE-CALIFORNIA/i-4LvxTDX/A"><img src="https://rpcrowe.smugmug.com/Pets/MALTESE-RESCUE-CALIFORNIA/i-4LvxTDX/0/L/Juno_1660-L.jpg" alt=""></a>

Neither of which allows me to place a photo onto CiC

First, in your post, type {img}{/img} but use square brackets, not curly ones.

Then copy the URL ( see note *** below) as in your first example or the same URL that is between the quotes in your second example.

Past it in between the square-bracketed bits et voila the little doggie appears:

Change Gives The Illusion Of Progress

*** the easiest to do that in FireFox, Windows, is to right-click on the link and select "Copy Link Location" from the drop-down.

I take it that help is being requested?

Try putting the forward slash in the second img thingy.

Which is why we are all using Canon AE-1 and Nikon F2 cameras these days ... Sorry - couldn't resist.

    1. On the Quick Reply box, click on "Insert Image" button. An "Insert Image" dialog box would appear.

Change Gives The Illusion Of Progress

    2. Just paste your URL from Smugmug and then click "OK"

Change Gives The Illusion Of Progress

    I hope that helps.

Thanks to both of you. I have it now. It was a bit easier before the "IMPROVEMENT" but, I have it down now!
