    Hummingbird

While on a recent trip to the USA, I found photographing these little dudes a real challenge. I took many photos before I got any that were half decent. I know this is a bit "grainy" but it is the best I could do at the time.

Better than any of my own efforts. Lovely BG. I'm saving the little rascals for future subject matter. Because I know it will become obsessive trying to get them

Love hummingbird shots Martin and this is a ripper. I don't suppose there's ever enough light to get the sort of shutter speed needed for one of these gus so ISO has to go up.
Would you mind if I had a go at smoothing out the grain?

Hi Graham. You are most welcome to have a go at it, if you wish.

If I told you that I'd have to -well, you know....

Actually I used a Mac only app called Noiseless to remove the graininess then another Mac only app called Intensify to sharpen it up a bit and adjust the shadows.

Photoshop isn't the be all to end all after all
