Candid of a Princess C&C Welcomed

I went to a K-9 Olympic event (Police Depts compete with their dogs) this weekend to get some shooting in (I'll post some of those tomorrow.) While there, I came across this princess. She chatted with me a little while I was shooting; she was so adorable, I was keeping an eye on her to get a cute capture. This is what I caught. I gave her dad my contact info - hopefully he will contact me so I can send him the images of both of his daughters.

The hair on her arms seems to distract me a bit and I blame your camera for being so sharp but she is a pretty girl and the shot is really good in my eyes.

I did notice that as well, but her face won out in my opinion. It's a good thing I didn't shoot this with the D810 ;-)

Well thank you Mike!! Her eyes were tough... I just checked and I had sharpened, added some structure, added a bit of saturation, and a hint of brightness to them. She had very dark eyes and it was difficult to make them sparkle, yet keep to their true color.

If you're concerned about her stray hair, you have several options: reduce or eliminate the sharpening, reduce the brightness, reduce the saturation or any combination of the above.

Thanks Mike. I wasn't concerned with the stray hairs on her head... as that was exactly as she was. I'll have to see if I can reduce the little hairs on her arms with one of those technics.

Perhaps as a technical challenge. But if I was fortunate enough to capture this portrait so well I would want to retain its authenticity. I would change nothing.
