Carver in the woods

On very rare occasions do I photograph people
other than family and friends. We came upon this carver
set up with his tools at a picnic table by a waterfall view/stop.
With his permission, I quickly snapped these two as he worked and tended
to other folks interested in his craft. Again a slight oof on both due to
haste.

Well done considering you felt you were rushed. On occasions like this, focus your shot, take a deep breathe,and fire at least two or three shots in succession. Also, make sure your focus indicator isn't searching for a target.

thanks Izzie. As a matter of fact, he asked I take a picture of his finished craft prior to handing it
over to the buyer. I appreciate your comment.

I like #2 the best but would sharpen it a bit and increase the contrast just a tad (actually, if you have NIK) the structure slider in Viveza would accomplish this... I would also crop/clone out the portion of the tree at top image left border.

Thank you Dean. Yes I did take a shot of him carving. I had to stand at his back, looking over his shoulder. Not the best.
