    Colour or B/W Portrait

The pattern of the dress is a wee bit busy, even with the plain background, so I tried a BW version, but Im not sure, maybe she looks too pale in the BW

Opinions in favour of either or neither, always welcomed

Thankyou Izzie, it was the colour in the cheeks that seemed to get leached out in the BW version, so we're on the same page, thanks for the response

The B &W version works for me, the sweater blends into the background more and decreases the pasted on look of the portrait. Nice image.

I'm thinking that she is a difficult subject lighting/exposure wise...
maybe apply some contrast in the highlights.

Both versions look nice to me but if I had to choose I would prefer the color one , lovely baby

Hair seems a fraction over exposed to me; which isn't quite so noticeable in the B&W.

    Either way, a good shot.

    Thankyou for the feedback all
I will have another pass at processing & tone down the hair if possible.

I agree with Geoff -the photo is over exposed but converting to black and white isn't going to rescue the blown-out whites in the hair. If the pattern on the dress is a problem, why not clone out the pattern?

Otherwise, it is a good capture of a candid moment.
