    Hooded Merganser

    Greetings from Beautiful British Columbia

Ice has left most of the small inland lakes and the birds are returning in large numbers. Very early this year after a soft winter.

Great shot! You have captured the great tufted head nicely, and a nice low point of view. We see these guys occasionally around here, maybe we'll see some when more of the water melts.

What a beautiful bird that you captured so well. I love those low angles on waterfowl shots.

I like that one with the pair. The subjects are very well isolated with that low angle you got.

I agree with everyone else - these are beautiful images - and especially with Nick's recognition of the importance of the very low angle you managed. That certainly contributes to the special quality these have.

Thanks again for the comments. The low POV is a result of shooting from a kayak.
