    Hi Jeff,

    I appreciate that with unknown animals (and possibly in pain/discomfort in a vet reception area) this advice may be risky to implement, but next time, is it worth trying to shoot from the level of their eyes, instead of from above?

    PS Of course, the animals will always make a good photo anyway, as here.

    I tried but both were kind of hiding and I thought they might get scared.

    Nope, just got a little lucky with my nikon 60mm micro.
