    From the flower vase ( C & C requested)

Trying to capture a bit of detail, knowing they're not particularly decent blooms.
All taken using a table tripod.
PP - cropped and sharpened only.

Considering the circumstances, these have worked quite well, Norm.

I would have liked to see all of the irises in #1 and I suspect the white balance is slightly off; but it is so difficult to capture that perfect iris colour.

#2 looks good. There is a very slight 'hot spot' of over exposure but this can easily be cloned over.

#3 is OK but cropped a bit on the tight side.

Getting the white balance perfect is often very difficult with shots like this and I often find it is worth doing a custom white balance with a proper grey card beforehand. Also shooting Raw tends to make colour correction a bit easier.

Nice series, the second has a great 3-D effect.

    Thanks for the input.
Geoff - I wouldn't dare to interfere with my wife's flower arrangement
The close crop on #3 was to cut out a door frame - bad composition on my part I'm afraid.

I like them both..I know how hard it is to photograph irises. It's my husband's favourite flower because it reminds him of his mom, so we have loads and loads of them in our garden...so I am not going to criticize something I haven't perfect poking my camera on. I love the effect of #2 and 3....
