    Black Drongo Silhouette

This was the picture i snapped 2 days ago from the terrace of my house. I was just trying to capture the picture of moon framing guava tree, but within few minutes Black Drongo just appeared on Guava tree and this is what i get in my camera. Please review it and let me know what else i can do to improve more. The Composition is not that good as moon and bird is total different in picture but then also i managed to capture it. Hope you will like it.

    Black Drongo Silhouette

    Thanks!

The composition is refreshingly different from the norm and is quite good. There are several ways to compose the scene more traditionally, but doing so would not necessarily make them better. Well done!

Hi Yuvraj. I would try a square crop as the right part of the scene doesn't add very much to the scene. I like the contrast between the bright moon and the silhouettes. They go very well with the blue sky .

I wonder about a crop from the right side? Maybe go something like 5 x 4 ratio?

Possibly some cloning of the twigs may then be required, but I wouldn't change anything else.

Ah, while I was typing Binnur has come up with a similar suggestion.

I agree with others...a crop on the right side will make or break this shot. Before you do crop this shot, try to expand it in lytebox here by clicking on the shot itself. Then move your image sideways to the left, then to the right and perhaps top and bottom to while imagining how the image looks like after you have cropped the subject,...lots of potential crops here to improve this shot...

Thanks a lot for all of your beautiful suggestions ! I really admire that. Little bit of cropping totally changes the view.

    Hi Yuvraj

I really like this. It could be cropped as suggested but I think it also works well as it is.

yes, it works in it too but as i imagined it in vertical view by cropping it looks more interesting in vertical view.

A really pleasing composition, the cold blue atmosphere and the sharp black silhouette of the Drongo go great with the bare branches. well captured!
