    Wrestling

India has produced some of the best wrestlers on the world stage. Almost all, if not all, of these wrestlers come from small towns and villages by participating in local village competitions such as these.

If anyone wonders what is meant by a photo that tells a story, they should view every detail of this one. Great job!

+1 to what Mike said. In lightbox on full magnification there is so much to see.
I have to ask, it appears that it's only men viewing, is this the case?

Notice the person in the lower left area with bright hair, perhaps blonde, that seems to be the lone woman in the scene.

You are right in your observation Jack... generally in rural areas it is predominantly the men who go to watch such competitions although there is no restriction for women to watch as well.

I think the British would disagree with you, but it's all show anyway.

Excellent image to whet our appetites. Did you get some close up shots of the wrestles as well?

I'm not sure if this has been mistaken for the WWF type wrestling... its actually the traditional mat wrestling.

Not really John... these competitions are traditional mat wrestling unlike WWF where the Great Khali participates.

Okay time to show my ignorance... how would this type of wrestling compare to the style found in the Olympics? And by the way it is a fine shot!
