    Hi Richard,

Picasa has a variety of options for creating collages simply, including arranging pics into rows and columns. Whether it meets your professional needs I don't know but it is very simple to do.

    Re: Collage

Are you looking to print a poster size like this or just make it a digital page on the pc, or what. The use of the collage will help to determine the software. You can do it with Photoshop but that's a bit of overkill.
You can do it with PowerPoint or even WORD if you have MS Office. You can even do something similar with the Windows Print Module if you just wanted to make an one page print.
If you want the pictures to overlap and be odd shapes and angles like most collages then you need a graphics program.
Long winded way to say You need to supply more info......
Looking at your smugmug page it looks like you already have it???

    Hi Richard,

as said above Picasa (uk version) is excellent for a variety of collage types (and adjustments within the 6/7 default selections). Here's a few examples...

    Mosaic

    Collage

    Thumbnails

    Collage

    Grid

    Collage

Ye can choose borders, backgrounds, sizes etc. Simply create a folder containing the images ye require, highlight the folder then choose picture collage from a dropdown. Images can be moved around in the collage 'til yer satisfied with yer selecton . Straightforward and intuitive...

If you want the pictures to overlap and be odd shapes and angles like most collages then you need a graphics program.
    Nope, ye don't...

    Re: Collage

If you appreciate what you are doing and organize each bit of material by pixel size related to the final aim a programme like MS Paint or Paint Dot Net can do collage that are not simple rectangles as Sue's Birthday .....I used PSP but I could have used either of the first mentioned and did in the past.

    Collage

But I guess you simply want the 'proof sheet' type of result rather than a collage.

edit to do the former any programme which can paste an image and have that moved to an appropriate place will do the job after you resize each image to a set size, perhaps 200x150 pixels or whatever.
