    Casino Cathedral

The structure to the left is the casino entrance. Not the best angle for the shot, so many obstructions surrounding the cathedral. Practicing a bit of lowlight shooting, editing for lowlight, and mono conversion while dealing with subzero temperatures.

I love the Cathedral. After many years in Canadian winters I have found the best way to deal with sub zero temperatures is to bundle up warmly and buy an airline ticket to the tropics

    Brian,

Thanks for commenting, while shivering from the cold the tropics was the first thing to come to mind.

It looks like one of those tabletop christmas villages. Cool shot.
Is casino the name of the cathedral, or is it an actual casino?

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for the comments. No, that's not the name, the church is located next door to the casino. It's sort of overshadowed by the casino's neon lights.

Looks like it may have an interesting history - in my mind, they built a chapel, then added a steeple next to it, then added a bigger one the other side!

Glad Izzie mentioned the stars, I nearly missed them.

    Cheers, Dave

That's lovely John. Not often something taken against a totally black sky works but this does.

Very well done, the starkness of the background really makes this stand out.
