    Peaches' puppies just hours old...

    New Family Members

The bigger one in the center is a girl and the other two are boys, delivered by Caesarian Section a few hours ago. Mom and puppies are doing just fine...

Believe it or not, Peaches, the mom, is nine and a half years old. That equates to about a 65 year old woman. The puppies were delivered by C-section because of the mother's age. Our rescue group received Peaches on Saturday and the pups were delivered on Tuesday. We got her in just the nick of time. One pup is a lot younger that the others (multiple breedings over the time the mom is fertile caused this) and we hope that he will make it. At first we were worried that he was not sucking with enough energy, But, he seems to be improving.

She has claimed possession of her puppies and has bonded to them. She growls a bit when my wife comes near them but totally accepts me as part of her pack. The smallest pup is holding his own. The first couple of days are the most critical.
