Panlight
This looks to be a potentially useful device for some ...
Kickstarter: PANLIGHT - remote direction control for flash and cameras
They seem to have beaten their initial goal by a factor of two already - although now they have 'stretched' it to add new features.
Such a device would have been useful at times for the pro shooting my daughter's wedding last summer.

Re: Panlight
Thank you.
Extremely useful information on which I have just acted.

Re: Panlight
Thanks, Dave! When there were only two lots left that provide one unit, I snapped up one.
Ironically, my makeshift studio is so small that you probably wouldn't think one of these things would be helpful. Just the opposite, my stands and tabletop are packed into such a small space that they get in the way, making it difficult to adjust my flash unit that lights the background or the underside of the tabletop. Being able to make those adjustments remotely will be very helpful.
