    Concha Y Toro Winery - Chile - Set 3

Hi. For this 3rd set of images from my recent trip to Chile, I am sharing some images of Concha Y Toro Winery. This is the largest wine company of latin america and one of the global leaders in its field. It was founded in 1883 by Don Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro.

Their most known wine (not the best nor the more expensive, though) is "Casillero del Diablo" (something like "Devil's cellar") and its origin is an interesting story. Don Melchor, after beginning the winery, started to save the best bottles for his own collection, in a furniture located in one of the winery cellars. Soon, some employess found that out and some bottles begin to disappear. Then, Don Melchor spread the news that the Devil itself was living in that cellar, haunting the place, and then the bottles did not disappear anymore! Legend or not, it is a nice story and it gives name to an internationally known wine. The company offers a 60 minutes guided tour, at a cost of CHL 9.000 (~20 USD). You can taste 3 wines: A) - "Trio", B) - "Série Rivera - Gan Reserva" and C) - "Terrunyo" and the glass cup is a compliment. Enough talking, here are some pictures I took during the tour. C&C welcomed, as always. Thanks for viewing.

4 - The place we would, minutes later, taste the wines. I liked the light and the glasses here. But first we got down to visit the cellars!

6 - The Devil (probably drunk, with so many "Casillero del Diablo" at hands).

7 - and, eventually, the wines!

    Another excellent series.

In many cases, having lighting like the last shot wouldn't work. But in this particular instance the composition is so good that having the figure in silhouette works really well

As usual, coming from you -- all excellent shots. I prefer #2, #4 and #6...the lighting are superb and #2 is a simple shot I mostly admire on its own. I would say, you captured the devil in its glory... and #4 just excellent in all of the criteria needed to take a good shot.

Hello, Geoff. I do appreciate your feedback. I liked that scene when I saw it and imagined it would work, so I made the shot. After checking it on my screen, I was not sure that people would really like it, as sillhouette works good only on certain cases. Glad to hear from you that it works. Helps me a lot for further similar shots. Thanks!

Hello, Vaez. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Regarding previous shots from this trip to Chile, this is the 3rd set. Look on my "Latest started threads" for the previous 2 sets. Also, I should start 1 or 2 more threads with images from this trip.

    Very nicely done, Otavio.

What a great series! Like the others, i am especially attracted to your low key images. There is just enough detail in the shadows to help us relate.
