    Fall Project

These photos I took a week or so ago, in Colorado, USA. Beautiful lighting, nice sky. What do you think? How could I improve them; composition, color, clarity ... All shot in RAW, hand held and post-processed in LR5. The third one, I could never quite get the color or sharpness where I wanted. Fall here is so beautiful, and it only lasts a few weeks.

They all look good to me. Possibly with the last image there is quite a lot of a similar yellow colour with that crop, so I wonder what it would look like with just a fraction more sky? Or did you crop like that to lose something which was spoiling the scene?

Spectacular images, Toby. I love the 2nd shot. Big bold shapes of a layered colours - simplicity rules.

Toby, they are all very good images of which the composition, colours and atmosphere help make them.

What I do find a concern is that there is a general lack of sharpness throughout and unsure if this is caused by them being handheld or the processing.

Thanks everyone. I think the lack of sharpness is due to being handheld, plus high ISO with too much noise reduction. The colors are off too. They look pretty good on my monitor, but they look odd through the web, darker with a different tint.

Here is the Aspen shot with more sky. It was a beautiful sky, but I was trying to isolate the trees. But it does look good with the pink sky.

Toby, #2 for me because it is so simple and that can be very effective.

A little bit too much sky now, Toby. It is overwhelming the trees ; maybe reduce it by around a third to a half?
