    Bird

One bird, one shot from a pretty dry 3 hours outing yesterday.

Good shot, love the position of the birds head between the two light areas behind it - really frames it well. Nice one !

Quite impressed. Excellent shot. In my experience these little guys are usually deep in the brush and never hold still for longer than an second. May be it is just here, the ravens are very adept at picking off any small bird that exposes itself and is stationary.

Gorgeous, Bobo. Focusing and sharpening are just perfect, in my opinion.

Thanks Jim, Binnur, Mark, Trevor, Donald, Greg.

I was actually chasing red-tailed hawks. Got to one pretty close and made a big boo-boo. He did not seem to mind me but I forgot about my shadow and off he went. So while deciding what to do next this flock of finches turned up. As soon as I moved a bit, all took off as expected but stayed in the general area. Had seen a few go onto this branch so positioned myself and just stood there and waited. One turned up and had time only to take 1 shot before they all took off again. Smarter this time and did not return.

Nice photo, the bird stands out well. It was interesting to hear how your shooting went, though it is too bad you didn't get your hawk... so I will share my red-tailed hawk success from today with you Bird
Right over my head he flew, but it isn't always easy

Not unusual Nick...I have a lot of those from my trip while practicing with the wrong lens.

Anyway, very pretty little birdie, Bobo -- and your experience and patience is I admire most in you. I wish I have the patience bit so experience can follow...

    Thanks John.

Thanks Izzie. Birds are a test of patience. More failures than successes is a mark of experience but as stated earlier not applying the experience is bad. Not remembering it even worse.

Birds = 3 simple rules. Determination, patience, persistence.
