    Puppy Love

I didn't realise the young woman was taking a selfie until I opened the file on the computer. The vision on the iphone was plainly there but a bit dark, so I have lightened in post to make it more obvious.

    C&C welcome.

There are some photographs I say to myself, I wish I had taken that and this is one of them.

And every once in a while you get an image which totally contradicts the received knowledge that every shot should be planned to within an inch of it's life - I'm with L.Paul - I'd really treasure it had I managed to get it.

Only question would be as to whether to crop tighter on the left (to just left of the phone), to really put all the attention onto the action taking place.

Then, like others above, I'd sit back and feel very proud of this picture.

Absolutely a great "snap." I'd give a lot to have taken that shot.

That's a cool shot. My only comment is the same as Donald. Maybe crop it a bit or use some PP magic to make the image on the phone more prominant. Nicely done.

Matt, David, Paul, John, Izzie, Neville, John, Steve, Donald, Mike, Binnur and Tom: thank you all, I appreciate your positive responses very much.

It was indeed a chance shot. I had been facing the opposite direction, trying to capture a pelican in flight. It dipped below the cliff and I lost track of him, and spun around hoping to see him come up behind me: that was when I saw this shot.

But given young people's addiction to these devices, if you observe them for a while I'm sure you could all get a similar or better shot.

David: I thought 'iphone' was the generic term for this form of technology. No?

Izzie: dog-lovers might disagree with you

Donald: when I was cropping the shot I was concerned that a tighter crop on the left might make the subject seem a bit cramped in the frame. Looking at it now though, I think your suggestion is a definite improvement. What do you think?
